LevelUP Life Coaching

The importance of a caring adult can not be overestimated.

LevelUp provides teens with a personal life coach, a caring mentor trained to help them create, achieve, and celebrate their goals. During summer 2020, the Mental Health Ambassadors surveyed 87 peers, which revealed that 55% of those surveyed did not have a caring adult asking how they were doing a minimum of 2-3 times per month. One young person said, “I feel like people overall just need someone to talk to. A lot of people don’t have a trusted adult, and they tend to hold it all in.”

Coaching is a way to support a young person by actively listening and identifying and implementing practical building blocks toward a successful transition to adulthood. Teenager Kaia (age 18) said, “Coaching was great, awesome! It was really helpful real-world stuff, the things that school doesn’t teach us.”

LevelUp Life Coaching provides up to 20 youth between the ages of 14 – 20 with a coach for ten months of the year (December-September). Adult volunteer life coaches are trained and participate in a learning community throughout their coaching season.
