Individual Volunteering

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Individuals may volunteer for a one-time or short-term project, or regularly serve as part of a program or leadership team. Here are some opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering as an individual or finding out more, the first step is to compete the Individual Volunteer Interest Form. We look forward to hearing from you!

One-Time: Join neighbors during any of our annual service day events. For example, Love Your Block (spring) and Being Thankful for My Community (fall) are community beautification events. We also have smaller projects for 2-3 people such as painting a room or helping with a distribution event.

Project-Based: At times, we have projects that may take several days (spread over weeks or months) to complete. An example would be a review of our employment manual, a photography project, or an art project.

On-Going Programs: Within our youth development and community engagement programs, there are many opportunities for people to make a regular, on-going volunteer commitment.

  • Young Life / Spiritual Programs: Volunteer help with Real Life, our weekly large youth group focused on FUN, relationships, and a talk about Jesus. ZO Groups are our weekly small discipleship groups for teens lead by staff and volunteers.
  • LevelUP Life Coaching: Consider mentoring a teen for 6-10 months focused on helping them set and achieve goals related to successfully reaching adulthood. Coaches meet with youth 2-4x per month and can attend optional group events as Coach-Mentee hosted by LevelUP.

On-Going Leadership Teams:

  • TNT Steering Committee: Neighbors who are residents, business owners, or community partners (schools, non-profits, etc.) are invited to apply to be part of the Talbot-Norfolk Triangle neighborhood leadership team that guides the work of the civic association.
  • Board of Directors: Those interested in a role on our Board of Directors are invited to express your interest in helping to guide the mission and vision of our organization. Particular skill sets needed include non-profit financial management, fundraising, corporate legal, and a passion for connecting others to Christian community development ministry.
