The Neighborhood Youth Ministries is a year-round program that expands greatly in the summer. We need someone that can quickly catch the heart of the ministry and provide guidance for the summer staff during the day-to-day schedule. You will organize and lead the logistical and spiritual aspects of the summer programs in cooperation with the year-round Director of NYM.

Program Director Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual and logistical guidance for the staff team. Help lead every aspect of 7 weeks of free summer programming to a diverse population of children and youth.
  • Commit to investing in genuine relationships with the neighborhood young people, as well as residents and community leaders. Relational ministry is at the heart of all we do.
  • Lead children in a daily non-traditional physical activity program.
  • Direct fine arts activities focused on drama and spoken word (poetry).
  • Contribute to the creative teaching times for children/teenagers. Including (but not limited to) Bible CLUB (ages 2-10), and Teen Bible Study (ages 11 – 17).
  • Cooperate with Internship Director to provide direction to youth interns.
  • Manage volunteers that come to work with the NYM summer program.
  • Enforce discipline procedures and/or leading interventions during programs.
  • Be willing to explore your spiritual gifts and God-given talents in a supportive environment.
  • Provide team leadership for the members of a diverse staff team.
  • Live and work with your staff team 24/7.
  • Evaluate and improve the program on a weekly basis.

Qualifications

  • Experience in youth work (preferred but not required).
  • Have the physical ability to work a full day and evening (5 days in a row).
  • At least 22 years of age.
