The Boston Project invites Christian youth groups to come to our Summer Missions Program.
Currently, this program can not accomodate individual applicants or family groups. Please contact our service-learning team to learn about other opportunities to get involved.
How Do I Register?
You are always welcome to contact The Boston Project to discuss your group's interest in serving, to ask questions about our program, and to check on available dates first. Call 617-929-0925 to talk with our dedicated staff (Keith and Kelly).
Please make sure you have read our Registration Policies and Procedures first.
- Fill out and submit your online Group Application.
- We will contact you within one week to approve your trip dates or to discuss other options if your preferred week is full.
- Send your non-refundable Group Deposit of $500 within two weeks of your trip approval.
- Your week is officially reserved!
Upon receipt of your Group Application and Group Deposit we will send you a confirmation letter. In the spring of 2008, you will receive our Planning Guide. This guide contains important information and helpful tools for your team's preparation.
Choosing a Group Size
Groups may register as one of the following:
- Small Group of 5-11 participants
- Medium Group of 12-19 participants
- Large Group of 20-30+ participants
Your group size is determined by the total number of participants attending.
(i.e. - 17 youth plus 4 adult leaders is a group of 21 participants, which = a Large Group).
The Boston Project may team up your group with one or more other groups typically not to exceed 30 participants at one housing site.
Large Groups over 25+ participants will normally stay at their own housing site.

Group Deposit
Once your team applies and your trip dates are approved, a Group Deposit of $500 is due within two weeks to officially reserve your trip dates. This deposit is non-refundable.
April 1, 2008
On April 1, 2008, all registered groups must:
- Lock in their group size as a Small, Medium, or Large Group.
On this date, groups guarantee payment for the minimum number of participants in their group size (5 for Small, 12 for Medium, 20 for Large). A change in group size after April 1, 2008, must first be cleared with The Boston Project. - Submit the Second Payment based on this group size (see above).
If we do not receive your Second Payment by April 1, 2008, your trip dates may become available to other groups.
Commitment Day
Your group’s Commitment Day is one month before you arrive in Boston. (i.e. - if your missions trip arrival date is July 13, then your Commitment Day is June 13.)
The following is due on Commitment Day:
- Your final number of participants (including youth and adult leaders)
- All Participant Registration and Medical Forms
- Your Final Payment (the remaining balance you owe based on $325 per person)
Changing Group Size or Number
Once we have approved your trip dates and received your non-refundable Group Deposit, the following policy applies if you need to change your group size or number.
Groups may change their Group Size (Small, Medium, or Large) until April 1, 2008.
On this day, groups must lock in their Group Size and guarantee payment for the minimum number in that group size (Small – 5; Medium – 12; Large – 20).
- Groups may increase their Group Size after April 1, 2008, provided there is space available.
- Groups that decrease their Group Size after April 1, 2008, still guarantee payment for their original size unless another group is able to take their place.
Groups may change their Group Number (the exact number of participants) until their Commitment Day (one month before arrival in Boston).
On this day, groups must lock in their Group Number and submit payment for this number.
- Groups may increase their Group Number after their Commitment Day provided there is space available.
- Groups that decrease their Group Number after their Commitment Day still guarantee payment for the Group Number provided on Commitment Day.
Cancellation Policy
Once we have approved your trip dates and received your non-refundable Group Deposit, the following policy applies if you need to cancel your group's trip to The Boston Project.
- Groups that cancel before April 1, 2008 will forfeit their non-refundable Group Deposit of $500, but will not be required to pay the remaining balance of their contract.
- Groups that cancel between April 1, 2008 and their Commitment Day will be required to pay for a minimum of 5 participants if registered as a Small Group, 12 participants as a Medium Group, or 20 participants as a Large Group unless another similar size group is able to take their place.
- Groups that cancel after their Commitment Day will be required to pay the full amount based on the final number of participants they provide on Commitment Day unless another group is able to take their place.
