Being Thankful for My Community Day
The sixth annual "Being Thankful for My Community" Day was held on Veteran's Day, 2009. The Boston Project Ministries is excited to partner with neighbors from the Talbot-Norfolk Triangle, the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation, and several area businesses to make this day possible. We are also grateful for First Parish Church in York, Maine for their yearly participation in this event.
Working together, we raked the yards of three local families and The Boston Project's ministry house, plus raking and flower-planting at the new Elmhurst Street Children's Park. The community also honored Henry (pictured below in the red hat), who is a consistent and positive presence in our neighborhood. Rain and shine, you can see him sweeping and cleaning a large section of street and sidewalk around his house on a daily basis. He is just one great example of many people who are good neighbors caring for our community.
