The physical area God has placed us in is a small section of one of Boston's most diverse and densely populated neighborhoods. In our 13-street community known as the Talbot-Norfolk Triangle (TNT) there are over 1,200 residents, with close to 375 children and youth under 18. That's a lot of young people! We balance the need to support children and families by responding to immediate needs they have (food, an emergency ride, etc.) while also investing in longer-term, developmental issues (academic skills, employment skills, leadership, etc.).

Many of our programs are birthed as ideas first from children and families in our neighborhood. When children came to our door in 1999 asking for help with math homework, our Homework Center was born. That same year, children were injured while playing in the trash-filled vacant lots on our street. Since then, we joined with neighbors and organizations in a 11-year process resulting in the newly built Elmhurst Street Children's Park.
