Lenny Zakim Fund - Boston Project on WBZ Radio

Special thanks to our friends at the Lenny Zakim Fund for their gracious support of our work. On Saturday, Oct 1 (into Sunday) from 12:00 midnight-1:00 AM, we joined Jordan Rich, Jude Goldman (LZF) and the Jewish Organizing Initiative live on WBZ 1030 AM radio to discuss our work and Faith in Action. Community Garden Volunteer Day

Join with neighbors on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM to help finish building the garden beds at our new children's community garden. Located at 106 Norfolk Street, our final projects this fall include spreading mulch, planting shrubs, and adding dirt to the garden beds. Contact Paul to volunteer or just show up!

Four (4) Tutors Needed for Homework Center

High school, college students and adults are invited to help youth ages 4-14 at our drop-in Homework Center. Flexible volunteer hours available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday afternoons (October-May). Contact Dana to learn more or to receive a volunteer application.

Collecting Food for Thanksgiving Baskets

This November, we will provide Thanksgiving Baskets for families in the Talbot-Norfolk Triangle neighborhood of Dorchester. This is only possible with the help of neighbors, businesses and churches, who help us collect food. You can contribute financially or collect food with family and friends. The Spot in DOT

Designed and led by teenagers, The Spot in Codman Square is a teen cafe held on the first Sunday evening of each month. Weekly raffles, video games, dominos, free food, music, dancing, and more happening at 89 Norfolk Street (Syria Temple community room). Special 20 minute program each night. Open from 6:00-8:30 PM. Free.

Talbot-Norfolk Triangle - Monthly Meeting

The Talbot-Norfolk Triangle Neighbors United meets the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:45-8:00 PM, and held at 15 Elmhurst Street. Invited guests regularly include Boston Police and elected officials. This is one way neighbors can influence the future direction of our neighborhood. Next TNT Meeting: Oct. 25 and Nov. 29.

Adopt-a-Month - Snacks for Homework Center

We have 15-20 hungry children coming each afternoon for homework help. We are thankful to have individuals and churches adopt-a-month to donate snacks. Can you help provide fresh fruit, crackers, granola bars, popcorn, hot chocolate, string cheese, yogurt, and more? If you can make a snack donation, contact Dana to help out.
