Job Position: Community Research Intern

The Boston Project Ministries, Inc. (TBPM) is a growing, faith-based community development organization committed to neighborhood revitalization in Dorchester, the largest and most diverse neighborhood of Boston.

Internship Detail: We are looking for a part-time intern in the spring of 2008 to conduct research focused on the Codman Square community of Dorchester. This position will consist largely of compiling statistics and other quantitative data, analysis of reports, and interaction with individuals and organizations within our neighborhood.

Research gathered will be incorporated in a comprehensive Codman Square Neighborhood Profile including statistics that will inform our own growth as an organization and aid TBPM in the process of grant writing. This is great experience for students interested in the fields of community development or social work.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Word, Excel)
  • Some experience/familiarity conducting basic research (ie, demographic data, statistics)
