Financial Update
As you may already know, Sarah and I raise about three-quarters of our salary through donations from individuals and churches who believe in and give to our ministry. Beginning in January 2009, we took a bold step of increasing the amount we raise from $24,000 to $30,000 per year. This means that in this financial environment, we are depending on people and churches to come through for us for an additional $500 per month.
How can we do this, especially in a financially tight time for so many people? That's a great question, and one we have asked ourselves more than a few times. However, we do believe that this is the direction God is leading us to for several reasons:
- Before making this decision, we fasted and prayed that God would direct us, and He has confirmed it in our hearts that this is the right direction.
- The show of support for our ministry at the end of last year confirms that people see value and fruit in the work God is doing through us. This support came in the form of calls, emails, letters, and financial abundance far above what we expected or hoped.
- An increase in our salary also means an increase in what mortgage amount we qualify for and how much we have to spend on regular maintenance of our new house.
We still need your help. We saw God work through so many people to bring in the finances we needed to end last year and begin this year financially stable. Over the long run, we still need individuals, families, and churches (and even small groups, youth groups, circles of friends, etc.) to come alongside us and become regular financial supporters of our ministry. Regular support of any amount is greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate online or set up regular donations, go here.
Please pray that God would continue to provide for our family, and pray about what part you, your family, and your church, might play in this ongoing ministry. Thanks!
