The River Walk
One of our favorite things to do as a family now is our “river walk.” Just a 2-minute drive from our house is a 3-mile path that snakes along the Neponset River and out to Dorchester Bay. We usually spend a morning each week walking one end to the other, eating a picnic lunch, and finding bird nests, marsh reeds, pretty rocks, and bugs all along the way.
The boys continue to amaze us with new accomplishments all the time. Joseph is now (mostly) potty-trained after just a week (or two) of trying, and is doing so many other “big boy” things. He will be three on November 30, and is looking forward to having a pirate party. Timothy crawls everywhere, uses simple sign language like “more” for food, and is the most talkative one in the family, even though his only syllable is still “da.” His personality is coming out, and he may even be more stubborn than Joseph (wow!)
Sarah and I enjoy our two boys so much. Some days are peaceful and fun, and others feel like we’re keeping up with a runaway train. When I was growing up (and usually doing something crazy or naughty), my mother often told me, “Just wait - you’ll probably have boys of your own that are just like you.” So as we learn to be good parents, I do try to keep that in mind. Thanks, mom :) And thank you to all who continue to pray for us and our ministry. May God richly bless you.
