April Prayer Requests
- Developing Neighbor-Leaders: We love the opportunity to help nurture the gifts and skills within people to be used for God's Kingdom work. Pray for us in 2011 as we work with 20-30 neighbors of various ages to step into leadership roles here within our community, the Talbot-Norfolk Triangle.
- Healing from Tragedy: A week after President Obama visited our neighborhood, a young person tragically lost his life on a nearby street. The loss is painful for the family and neighbors. Pray for God's comfort, and a renewed hope and commitment in working with our most at-risk youth.
- Summer Youth Jobs: This year we face a unique challenge in employing our local young people. There are fewer resources available to help us hire teenagers who live in our immediate neighborhood. Last summer, we employed 25 teenagers. Pray for God's creative provision for sponsorship of 10 youth jobs. Each summer job costs us $1,300.
- Preparing for Homeschooling: We are excited to have made the decision to homeschool Megan, Cady, and Grace beginning in September. Pray as we attend a homeschool conference in late April and prepare for this new adventure.
