Moving, Learning, Growing
In the summertime it is as if the days have no end as nights last longer and the sun rises earlier. One day flows into the next with little distinction between the two. So it is with our family. Amongst the fullness of Boston Project life, our family seems to be continuously moving, learning, and growing, and we are appreciative of what we have - especially each other. Let me catch you up on how we all are doing.
Megan. Now almost 7, Megan completed Kindergarten last year. She loves to write, create, and develop "a plan" for everything. Her teacher wrote to us, "Megan has many friends in the class and children often want to be near her because of how kind she is." We see her living out her names' meaning of being a "great shining light." We have also been touched at how her pretend play often includes stories of helping those homeless or someone in need. Her heart inspires our family.
Cady. At 4 1/2 Cady Joy continues to bring boundless energy into our daily life. She adjusted well to preschool this past year, and will return as one of the "big kids" for her second year. Her teacher wrote, "Cady shows nothing but kindness, consideration, and gentleness with her classmates and teachers and it is truly a joy to watch her bloom and grow each day." Paul's nick-name for her is "Coach" as she loves sports and cheering her family and friends on in whatever they do. Cady's joy refreshes our spirits.

Paul and Glenna. This summer Paul and I both have seen our focus shift, as we step deeper into the role of coaching and training the staff. We find ourselves moving from the leadership stage of leading by doing to now leading leaders as they serve and guide others. Paul has truly enjoyed working on projects in our backyard. New mulch and a discounted patio set have made it a welcoming place for people to rest. Paul has also taken pleasure in gardening at the home of his friend Bob McCoy's. The girls and I had a fabulous time swimming and playing for a few days at my parent's home in New Hampshire.
Great News! This fall Paul will finally have an Executive Assistant to help him manage the multiple hats he wears at The Boston Project. Our friend Liz Boyd has been nudged by God to return to our staff after her time here last summer. If you would like to help "seed fund" her position to help get us started we would be extremely blessed. Our cost to have Liz here full-time is about $1,000 per month.
There is little distinction between our family life and ministry life - they are one in the same. Our heart is that as we move from one day to the next, our girls will come to internalize the joy that's found in "as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15b) May you have that joy too!
