"What is a snow blower?"

I was quickly made aware of my highly inexperienced winters when I posed this question last week. After a few snickers from my coworkers, I found out that a snow blower is indeed something that blows the snow from the sidewalk to the grass or street. It is an upgrade from a mere shovel. I think that's why they were excited about our possible purchase of a new snow blower. Apparently you can be ticketed for not having your sidewalk shoveled?? I just can't wrap my mind around that. I'm clearly not a new-englander (YET!).

As far as transitioning into my new position at The Boston Project, I am absolutely loving it! When I arrived back in Boston about two months ago, I was warmly welcomed with a freshly painted bedroom and a good meal (I work with some pretty great people as you can probably tell). We have already hosted several groups for Service Days, and we had our first (well, my first) Weekend Retreat this past weekend. Spring Break registration has already begun, and somehow I feel like I will wake up tomorrow and it will be summer all over again!

You can pray for my continued transition into Dorchester, as well as a church community. I have begun going to High Rock church and really love it, but just need to continue to get plugged in.

I am so excited to be here and am thankful that I get to be a part of moving the gospel forward!

Happy fall y'all!

Emily
