2009 is gonna be... fine!

Ok, that's lame. 2008 is gonna be great was my slogan last year though, so have to stick with the cheesy tradition!

Normally, New Years eve comes and goes, and the next year feels no different than the last one. This year though, there already seems to be a significant difference between the two years. I came back to: 1) three less staff than before 2) one new housemate and 3) a new t-shirt business!

I'll work through those for you :)

1) Katie, Catrina and Kelly are gone! I'm sad to see them go, but excited for what is in store for them. It's been pretty strange around the office though--last week it was just Paul, Melissa, Emily and I, and it was pretty quiet about the office. It was fun having some old friends from summer staff around, and kept things a bit busier around here, but today... dead quiet. STRANGE!

2) One new housemate. Katie moved out in the middle of December, and returning to a Katie-less apartment was quite sad! However, we have a new woman moving in this upcoming weekend: Hailey! She's working for AmeriCorps, promoting mentoring relationships. She works in Lynn - where I lived until I was 10, so immediately she's cool in my book :)

3) New t-shirt business!!! This is probably the most exciting to me. On my birthday last month, we found out that a friend of Paul and Glenna's decided to donate his fair trade t-shirt business to us. You can see the designs and purchase t-shirts from Off You Back Shirts(site temporarily down till we launch), and I am so excited to be able to run with this. I don't really know what I 'm getting into, but, hey... I love fair trade. I love clothes. It's like a match made in heaven, right?

Happy 2009!!
