Keep it 100

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating; drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

- Luke 17: 26-27

"You can't lie David, today is Sunday!" Growing up, I heard this almost every Sunday from my siblings. At times I would be the one to remind them when it was Sunday as well, if I felt they were not being honest with me. Should we be more on our game on Sunday? More holy? Well, the answer of course is no. Yet, we do not show this in our actions. On our day of worship we make a valiant effort to go to church, read our Bible, socialize and keep our language clean; and once that day is over we go from valiant to futile effort. We do not know the time, day or year of the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so we need to keep our walk with him at 100%; anything less than that and we're playing with fire.

This concept is even true for the youth that I work with. There is no such thing as being on the clock or off the clock. I need to be who I am at all times. If I do not make a valiant effort to operate at 100% at every moment than I leave room for the Enemy to come and use me to lead the children of God astray. I refuse to let that happen in the name of Jesus.

Mindy and I have also learned that keeping it 100 in marriage is the key to a successful marriage. If I make it a point to put 100% into the marriage I could help my wife out when she's having a bad day and vice versa; but if we were both trying to do the 50-50 rule we would have crashed and burned a long time ago. So we're at a season where we notice that keeping it 100 in our walk with Christ, in our relation to one another and ministering to God's people is the most healthy and best route to take.
