Apprenticeships at The Boston Project.
Apprenticeship: learning a trade, art, or calling
by practical experience under skilled workers.

"These are real people, living life as family, and working to see God's kingdom come
in their neighborhood. That is what I love about life at BP."
- Katie Rice, former Apprentice, then Director of Community Development

"I can't think of a better way to spend my time, or a much more
authentic way to live the truth of the Gospel."
- Dwight Simon, Apprentice

"This experience has stretched me tremendously. No matter how much I wanted to come and bless this place, it has, in turn, blessed and taught me more than I ever could have imagined."
- Saralyn Perry, Apprentice

Apprenticeships at The Boston Project

"He has shown you, O man, what is good... to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." - Micah 6:8

We at The Boston Project Ministries, are a community of Christians dedicated to this "good life" of acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with our God. We are called to renewing the urban neighborhoods we live in physically, socially, and spiritually through the relationships we build with our neighbors, local churches, and community organizations, and we would love for you to join us in this life!

We have designed Apprenticeships to be a time where you are encouraged to discern and grow in your God-given passions and skills by taking on significant leadership roles within the ministry. But you won't be alone - you will live alongside Boston Project's full time staff and their families to get the full experience of loving your neighbors as we work together. All the while you are engaging in important work for The Boston Project as we grow to keep in step with all that God is doing in our urban neighborhood.

Time Commitment and Benefits

We will work together to determine a time commitment before you begin working with The Boston Project, usually between 1 and 2 years. Apprentices are provided with simple housing in our neighborhood, a base stipend, and the opportunity to raise additional financial support (this is optional). There is potential for apprenticeships to transition into longer-term salaried staff positions as God leads.

Balance is the key. When hiring apprentices, The Boston Project seeks to balance our particular staffing needs with your desired area(s) of ministry involvement. Below are current apprenticeship positions available. While they have specific descriptions, we are open to modifying them based on your hopes for your experience. We ask that you pray about those that interest you. Then we ask that you talk with us about how we might best serve and learn together.
